Having completed a BSc (Hons) in Underwater Science at the University of Plymouth, Darioosh went on to work as an offshore surveyor within the subsea construction industry.  After a couple of years working in Europe and Africa on various subsea construction and inspection programmes, Darioosh moved to Sonardyne International Ltd.

Whilst at Sonardyne, Darioosh spent the majority of his time focussed on Sonardyne underwater acoustic positioning systems, sharing his time between delivering training, workshops, offshore project support and project management. Working in areas ranging from shallow water estuary environments through to Deepwater (5,000m +) areas, he developed a thorough appreciation for the challenges that faced surveyors working with underwater navigation systems.

Following his time at Sonardyne, Darioosh moved to Atlas Professionals to work as a Technical Consultant & Account Manager, and latterly a Business Manager.  Whilst working there, Darioosh helped start up Atlas’ freelance competence programme in line with IMCA guidelines, which was the first of its kind offered by a personnel agency for Hydrographic Surveyors.

After over a decade spent working offshore with various positioning systems, and the skills learned in Atlas, Darioosh now works as a Business Development and Strategy Manager for a company in Plymouth UK specialising in inertial navigation sensors and systems, both in the defence and maritime sector.

When not working, Darioosh finds time to enjoy the area surrounding Plymouth as much as possible, whether coastal walks, hikes on Dartmoor or surfing the local breaks.
